Turkeys are birds of the Meleagris genus!
They come from North America and the white ones weigh between 10 and 20 kilos. The domestication of this bird took place 2000 years ago in Mexico.
Turkeys taxonomically belong to the Ornithomorpha order and the Pheasant family.
Males of both species have a fleshy protrusion that hangs from the top of their beak, called a larynx. They are among the largest birds of their class. As in other ornithomorphs, males are larger and more colorful than females, i.e. they show sexual dimorphism.
Now the word turkey is synonymous with the word Christmas for all parts of the world.
